Try Something New| MICA's Art Market
Every year it's the same story: You want to get the important people in your life gifts, and you want them to be something cool. But what do you get them? Expensive cosmetics? Some trendy electronic gadget? A really nice pen set?
We recommend you eschew all of the above and opt, instead, to find them something truly unique at MICA's annual Art Market. For four days the school's students, faculty, and staff will have ceramics, prints, toys, T-shirts, jewelry, paintings, illustrations, and more, all of their own creation and on sale for holiday shoppers. The work of more than 200 artists will be on display here, so you're bound to find something that suits the tastes of someone on your list.
(Erin Sullivan)
It's going down 12/10-12/13

Recap: Battle of the Beltway at Ray Lewis' Full Moon
(Full Moon from the 2nd Floor)
(Kelson from 92. Q (right) and company)
Upon entering there were only a handful of people occupying a couple of tables. It was extremely quiet for a game night and we almost considered leaving to go some place else, but decided to ride it out. We were escorted to the second floor where booths and tables aligned the walls. The one thing I did love is that each booth had its own flat screen tv, which was great so that you weren't straining your neck to watch the game.
(Fellas' watching the flat screen)
While the drinks were strong I was not impressed with the over priced menu or its presentation. The food menu was basically a flyer that was laminated and the drink menu was even worse!
(The drink menu)
I ordered a BBQ sandwich with a side of fries ( since they consider themselves a BBQ joint), but I was disappointed. The food wasn't warm enough and definitely not that good! However, we still managed to have a great time since the Ravens pulled a W over the Skins!
(DCFab! and BmoreFab! Correspondent Ashlee)
Stand up Bmore!!!
Last night my favorite Bmore Girls (along with DCFab!) headed down to Ray Lewis' popular establishment Full Moon (2400 Boston St) to watch the "battle of the beltways" (the Redskins vs. Ravens for all the slow folk). Since it was my first time attending I expected to be completely packed with patrons since this was after all a huge game and it always seemed crowded in pictures...well that's what I thought anyway.

Kids On The Hill TV Dinner
The press release from Kids on the Hill poses the highly evocative, deeply philosophical question, "Where do you throw the chicken box after you eat the chicken?" Apparently, the myriad obvious answers to this question--on the street, in some open doorway, out the window of the moving car--provide the impetus for this year's Kids on the Hill TV Dinner. In addition to delicious food, Kids on the Hill is dishing out environmental awareness via their amusing yet provocative short films.
The members of this "youth-driven social action organization", headed by founder Rebecca Yenawine, seek to understand why issues about the environment don't factor in to the day-to-day lives of Baltimore's youth. We feel that this is quite the admirable cause and hope that St. Johns of Baltimore United Methodist Church is standing-room-only when the shorts start at 7:30 p.m.

Solange: T.O.N.Y. Video...
Shout out to our girl Va$htie who directed the video.check out the interview we did with her here!
WORLD AIDS DAY 2008
I was in shock as I drove home this evening listening to the Michael Baisden show. Michael shared with his listeners the top 10 states that were affected with H.I.V./AIDS and Maryland was number 2 (FYI North Carolina is number 1). The people most affected by H.I.V./AIDS in the country are African American Women between the ages of 18-25. Hearing this information was especially devestating since so many of my friends and I fall in that age range.
I had to stop and ask myself, about how often I really think about this disease that is killing so many of my peers and others around the country and world? Rarely.
We've all heard (well I hope) since our teen years how important it is to have safe sex but how many of us really do it? Do you think about every person you've ever been with..and who they've been with...and who the people they slept with have been with..confusing....to much..so what!
Get TESTED!
KNOWING is beautiful and it only takes a minute! As one of my favorite writers Belle would say
"it's cold out there kids wear a coat!"
Be safe...it's the fab thing to do!
