Spotted: Mario at Nationals Park

Baltimore native Mario was spotted at Nationals Park in D.C today. He and many other celebrities across the nation were apart of the World’s largest shared reading experience.

The event included a one day by reading one book, Don Freeman’s classic, CORDUROY. The event was help to aid the literacy crisis in the U.S. on Jumpstart’s Read for the Record Day with thousands of reading events happening simultaneously across the country.

Baltimore's own Mario is not only making headlines on TV, in Hollywood, and on the most popular celebrity blogs. Mario and his mom were featured in Essence magazine this month. Through an interview with Porsche Slocum, Mario gave us insight into his music, his mother's addiction, and of course the many rumors that are circulating about him. I don't know about you, but I remember when Mario came out in 2002 with "Just a Friend". 92.Q was on the radio broadcasting the video and what not...asking for all the young ladies to come out to be in the video. Now Bmore's own Mario has made it big! He's been seen partying in L.A. and New, York, performed on major awards shows, and has been viewed by millions on Dancing with the Stars.

Now he is taking off his clothes and grinding with ladies (maybe not ladies) on stage. I ain't gon lie...his body is looking good these days. But anyhoo c'mon Mario, must you resort to that? You are talented, there is no need!!! Yes, yes, yes, we all know that sex sells but isn't there another way? Bmore let me know...does every artist need to turn to sex to sell their albums? Recap | African American Heritage Festival aka AFRAM

The African American Heritage Festival aka AFRAM (it'll always be AFRAM, they need to give it up!!!) was a bit of a disappointment. Can you believe that there were no vendors?!? Ok, well I might by hypin' it but there were literally like 3 of them selling the same things (you know..cheap t-shirts, etc.) However, I gotta shout out to the dudes selling the African jewelry from New York for hooking me up!

On a better note, the food was on point..tell me where else can you get 3 pieces of fish, 4 chicken wings, and fries for $8! No where!

Ok now to the artists... Hands down FANTASIA held it down. I am not a huge fan but I gotta give it to her she put on a show. You know somebody put on a show when they kick their shoes off and go through three towels. Bmore's own, Mario, did his thing too but sorry Mario, Tasia got you beat boo.

And to top it off... Maybelline New York represented with their The Great Beauty Tour. There was a fabulous makeup artist who gave great make-up tips. FAB! tip: Don't limit your blush to cheeks only. Try dusting just below the eyebrow area with a little brush. It picks your face right up!!! Hopefully next year there will be more to highlight but unfortunately the only thing poppin' this year was the lipgloss after the makeovers.

Hopefully AFRAM will spice it up for next year...

Mario Showed Up at Xanadu Thursdays

So if you didn't head down to Xanadu (10 S. Calvert St.) with the rest of Morgan, Coppin, BCCC (I could go on) then you missed out on Baltimore's own Mario. Y'all know we love some Mario in Baltimore (even though he did go to Milford). He stopped by, giving Xanadu just a little bit more credibility on college night. See pics below:
